Book Review — Honor Among Thieves (Star Wars: Empire and Rebellion #2) by James S.A. Corey

Honor Among Thieves (Star Wars: Empire and Rebellion, #2)Honor Among Thieves by James S.A. Corey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had a feeling I would love this. If you too expect a Star Wars and James S.A. Corey lovechild, well then you won’t be disappointed.

Also, if Han is your favourite, you won’t be disappointed.

Honor Among Thieves (it kills me to spell it without a “u”) is a fast-paced, witty, and incredibly fun novel. There’s not much more to say, because you really shouldn’t be looking or hoping for more than that. Take your Dostoevsky elsewhere—right now I’m in the mood for some droids and blasters.

Now, a note about the audio version. I’m not the biggest listener—for me, it’s usually so I can cram more reading in while I exercise or commute.

But you must listen to this book as narrated by Marc Thomson! He is the best I’ve heard. Such a range of voices, and such excellent tone throughout. His Han and Luke impressions are so spot-on that it sounds like Ford or Hamill in your ear.

My only complaint is that at times this novel reads like the script to a video game. Go here! Find the clue! Beat this bad guy! Get this information! Now go here! Oh, no it all went wrong! Fight this! Meet the boss! Beat the boss and get the reward!

Overall, if you’re looking for a comfort read, you can’t do much better than this Star Wars novel.
