Book Review — V for Vendetta by Alan Moore

V for VendettaV for Vendetta by Alan Moore
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Not sure what all the hype was about.

I read this graphic novel in its entirety, but didn’t like it at all. I was immediately put off by the art, and then was not drawn by any of the characters or even any of the ideas.

Can someone convince me to give it a re-read? What am I missing?

  1. Well, I would say start with the movie and see if you like that (although Alan Moore never likes film adaptations of his work for some reason). There is a lot in the graphic novel that is good, like all of Moore’s work, but it can be hard to get into. Specifically his graphic novels read almost like a book, lot of text (see From Hell).

I think V for Vendetta is known for its characters, storyline, and stylistic features, although yes, it can be hard to get into.
