Book Review — The Hobbit: Or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit: Or There and Back AgainThe Hobbit: Or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkien
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Did you expect anything less than 5?

The Hobbit wil always be one of my all-time favourite adventure books. Sometimes, we take for granted how much The Professor actually invented for the genre, but the sheer amount of things inside this book never ceases to amaze me.

This particular edition was also fantastic because of the original illustrations by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Each chapter has its own little story, and all together it feels like a whirlwind introduction to fantasy — escapades with trolls, goblins, elves, spiders, eagles, wargs, bears, dragons, you name it!

I can’t think of a better novel to read to children, though adults will also enjoy this timeless classic.

Now that I’ve quenched my desire for Middle-Earth, on to new books!
