Book Review — Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastard #2) by Scott Lynch

Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastard, #2)Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

YES YES YES!

Scott Lynch has taken his masterpiece of a first novel and done an even better job in Red Seas Under Red Skies.

We get more of what we loved from Lies of Locke Lamora—the titular main character, the razor-sharp wit, the con games—while keeping it fresh with new, vivid settings and an even more impressive ensemble of twisted plots and deceit.

This book will take you on an emotional journey that you’d never have expected it to, and delivers with what is probably the most satisfying ending I’ve read in long, long while.

Mr. Lynch, take all the time you need to continue writing these books, because they are nothing short of perfect.

  1. Love love love this book. I’m in the middle of the third instalment right now and every time I have to put it down (to resume necessary everyday activities) it’s like I’m abandoning a freshly-plated slice of pie, warm from the oven and just waiting to be eaten. My life seems so grey and empty thanks to Scott Lynch and the fact that blue wine isn’t a real thing.
