Book Review — Beginnings, Middles, and Ends by Nancy Kress

Beginnings, Middles & Ends (Elements of Fiction Writing)Beginnings, Middles & Ends by Nancy Kress
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This has been one of the better ones in the Writer’s Digest series, falling just short of Characters & Viewpoint.

It was written well, had great examples, and opened my mind to elements of a story that I had always known, but never consciously thought about.

Best of all were the exercises at the end of each chapter, where you went looking for the concepts that were just taught in novels you read or wrote.

Highly recommended even if you don’t want to write — it helps you appreciate stories better!
