Book Review — The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night CircusThe Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

About 90 pages in, I had to stop reading this book. One of my goals for this year is to recognize that my TBR pile is more accurately described as a mountain, and if a book doesn’t interest me within a few chapters, it has failed.

I didn’t enjoy the limited 3rd person perspective of The Night Circus. If I didn’t want to know what was going on in a character’s head, I’d watch a movie. The description and dialogue was so short and cliched that I felt no attraction to the story, setting, or any of the people. Even the mysterious tone didn’t pique my curiosity.
