For a first novel, it of course had the usual gripes about character development and pacing, but you know what? That doesn’t matter because the potential is there, and it’s obvious to see.
The craft will only improve with time—Brian McClellan definitely has all the intangible bits of this whole writing shindig down pat. Once it all clicks, I’m telling you, it’s going to be epic.
